The Albert B. Alkek Library provides access to all the major research databases and periodicals in the music field. An extensive e-book collection complements the print holdings. The Interlibrary Loan service grants students access to materials in libraries across the United States, and the Graduate Article Delivery Service makes articles from Alkek's print journal collection available to graduate students electronically.

The Schneider Music Library holds print scores and anthologies, as well as audio and audio-visual materials. An extensive collection of streaming-music and streaming-video databases complements the physical holdings. These include Alexander Street Press' Jazz, Classical Music, American Song, Contemporary World Music, and Smithsonian Global Sound Libraries, and the Database of Recorded American Music, NAXOS, FOD and AVO.
