Meet the Teachers

Texas State String Project teachers are music majors in Music Education or Performance. Their work in our String Project prepares them for successful careers in music, in public and private school settings and private studios. Please read below for individual teacher bios.

Cali Anderson

Ms. Cali Anderson is a Music Education Major in her 1st year at Texas State University.

 Originally from Houston, TX, she has played viola for 8 years. She received 2 superior UIL state ratings, volunteered with her local youth orchestra, Katy Youth Symphony, and was the Student Conductor of her high school. Cali enjoys dancing and watching Marvel movies. Her favorite food is chocolate and ice cream!


Faustino Becerra

Mr. Faustino is a 3rd year student studying Music Performance at Texas State University.

He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Texas. Mr. Faustino has played Violin for 10 years. Mr. Faustino is a member of the Texas State Symphony orchestra and participates in a Violin Quartet. In Mr. Faustino's free time, he enjoys playing video games or traveling.


Skyler Campbell

Ms. Skyler is a Music Education Major in her 5th year at Texas State University. 

Originally from Rowlett, TX, she has played violin for 11 years and cello for 4 years. She is a member of TMEA and has served as an officer for the Texas State ASTA student chapter for 1 year. She has performed in all-region orchestras, musicals, operas, and chamber recitals. In her free time, Skyler enjoys watching movies, reading new books, and learning Kpop choreography. She loves any food with pasta!


Nadia Diaz de Leon

Ms. Nadia is a music studies major in her 3rd year at Texas State University. Originally from San Antonio, she has played cello since 6th grade. She has also played in all region groups, musicals, opera, and the St Mary’s University orchestra. She currently performs with the Texas State Symphony. She also participated in an internship program with the Texas Orchestra Directors Association, attending many clinics and talking with accomplished directors. In her free time, Nadia enjoys playing electric bass, crocheting, and shopping. Nadia’s favorite food is Mexican food (specifically street tacos). 


Diana Diaz Lopez

Ms. Diana is a second year Music Education student at Texas State University. 

She was born and raised in Houston, Texas and has played violin for 9 years. Ms. Diana is involved in various groups such as the Texas State Symphony Orchestra, a violin trio called Terzera, a violin quartet, and a string quartet group named Das Kwartett. In her free time she likes to crochet and take care of her cat, Mingi. Her favorite food is wings (preferably buffalo and garlic parmesan). 


Cristal Martinez Perez

Ms. Cristal is pursuing a Music Studies degree from Texas State University. 

She was born in Arizona but grew up in Austin, Texas. She has performed with many ensembles including the Texas State Symphony Orchestra, Mariachi Lince de Oro, Mars String Quartet, Crivastalian Duo and many more. She has enjoyed participating in summer music festivals such as the Dudamel Foundation’s Encuentros in 2022. In her free time, Ms. Cristal loves going to the gym and taking care of her chickens.


Erika Money

Ms. Erika is a 4th year student studying Music Education at Texas State University. 

Ms. Erika has played cello for 8 years and served in many ensembles. In Ms. Erika’s free time, she loves to play her cello with friends in the Athena Cello Quartet and the Cassieopeia Duo. When Ms. Erika is not playing cello, she is drinking coffee at Mochas and Javas with Ms. Nadia and playing with her puppy, Diesel.  


Abigail Quinterro

Ms. Abby Quinterro is a second year Music Education major. 

She is from Victoria Texas, where she started viola in the sixth grade. She has played in all region orchestras, private gigs, and community orchestras. Abby is a dedicated member of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra and Texas State viola ensemble. Outside of Music, Abby enjoys reading, going to Mochas and Javas with Ms. Hannah, and spending time with her dog. Abby's favorite food is pasta.


Abigail Rios

Ms. Abby Rios is a Music Studies major in her second year at Texas State University.

 Originally from San Antonio, TX, she has been playing violin since age 11. She is a member of the Texas State Symphony and participates in several chamber ensembles including Das Kwartett, Terzera violin trio, a violin quartet, and a violin duo. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games on her computer and watching shows/movies on Netflix. Her favorite food is pasta.


Kaitlynn Scott

Ms. Kaitlynn Scott is a music studies major in her second year at Texas State University.

 Originally from League City, TX, she has played the viola since sixth grade and piano since eighth grade. She is a dedicated member of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra and of the American String Teachers Association. Outside of music, she takes care of her plants and enjoys reading and creative writing. Her favorite food is oatmeal, especially if it has chocolate!


Carolyn Stennis

Ms. Carolyn is a Music Education major in her 3rd year at Texas State University.

 Originally from Round Rock, Texas, she has played viola for 10 years. Carolyn has been an officer for the Texas State ASTA student chapter for 2 years. She has performed in operas, quartets, the San Marcos Artists’ Retention and Training Orchestra, & is a current member of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys playing guitar, making art, and petting cats. Her favorite food is Greek food (and chocolate.)


Hannah Wade

Ms. Hannah is a music studies Major in her 2nd year at Texas State University. 

She's originally from College Station, where she has played viola since the 6th grade. She has played in all region groups, Community Orchestras, and quartets for multiple private events. She currently performs with the Texas State Symphony. In her free time, Ms. Hannah enjoys playing video games, cooking, and going to Mochas and Javas with Ms. Abby. Her favorite food is BBQ, Pasta, and Soup. 


Noah White-Telles

White-Telles

Noah White-Telles is a senior Music Education major at Texas State University where he is currently principal violist of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra and president of the Texas State ASTA student chapter. Noah runs a youth strings program at Solid Foundations Church in New Braunfels and is violist for Siren Strings Quartet. He has performed at various venues across the country, including Disneyland and the Lincoln Center in New York City. After graduating Noah plans on attending graduate school to further develop his skills in conducting and string pedagogy. He loves chocolate and sour candy.
